Apologies

I was perturbed when I learned that a video of the first truly fact-based analysis of tape backup versus de-dupe VTL-to-VTL replication, as presented by AT&T at the FujiFilm Global IT Executive Summit in Austin, TX, had been taken down by FujiFilm at the request of AT&T.  While no one from AT&T will say, I suspect that

Demure Data Domain begs stockholders for the match of it’s choosing

This morning in the Wall Street Journal. In today's episode of storage soap……. (DDUP) "But papa, I don't want to marry that man, he's a brute!" (stockholers) "He's got a big dowry – a cow and 20 goats" (DDUP) "Yes papa, but the alternative isn't bad, he'll give you the 20 goats and because he's a beekeeper – we'll bring you sweet honey for the rest of your life! Issues such as performance, stability, quality and future support of Atmos are reportedly being raised

Will the next episode of the DDUP soap opera be a courtroom thriller?

The tweetosphere has been lively with chatter about Data Domain, Netapp and EMC .  Some of these discussions have suggested that EMC's hostile takeover attempt for Data Domain is intended to financially hurt Netapp . Its been suggested that Netapp is now in a no-win situation:  If they lose Data Domain they will have a difficult time competing against the product as sold by EMC
